First-Prize-Pigeons

Introduction

First Prize Pigeons started as a breeding centre for racing pigeons in 2001 officialy in both the town called Erp as in De Bilt in the Netherlands. We aim exclusively in breeding youngsters with specific qualities for long distance racing (500-800 kms) and overnight long distance racing (800-1200 kms).

In order to obtain and maintain the specific qualities for overnightracing, last year 15 national and national NPO (3 national Acepigeons) winners were bought:

When purchasing these winners the following criteria where handled in order to create the perfect pigeon specificly for long distance racing:

intelligence and orientation
willpower
character
instinct
muscelquality, strenght and volume
speed and the talent to be competative at long distance racing Goals

Our breedingcentre aims for the following objective: breeding youngsters with the specific quality for long distance and overnightracing.

In order to guarantee these specific qualities in breeding, the breeders have to face the following criteria in order to earn a place in the breedingsection:

at least they have to be a national winner on an overnightrace or national NPO winner on a minimal distance of 650 kilometers
furthermore in the pedigree of this national or national NPO winner at least one of their ancestors have to be a national winner or national NPO winner or be from the bloodlines from the best dutch overnight longdistance strains: Van Wanroy, Van der Wegen, Jan Aarden, Kuypers Bros. and for the long distance (500-800) Janssen Bros, Jan Aarden etc.

Exclusivity

At our breedingcentre we only have 32 breedingpairs. These breedingpairs are formed from:

15 National winners
43 children from 8 national winners
8 grandchildren from 18 national and international winners

Our national winners or their children, will be mated to grandchildren from the following national winners

all 1st generation youngsters have minimal 1 national or national NPO winning sire or dam
all 2nd generationa youngsters have minimal 2 of 4 grandsire or granddam winning a national or NPO national

Testinglofts

Some toplofts selected us to improve their already qualitatively strong colony of racers, by purchasis some youngsters from the well proven bloodlines of our national winners (see button Other lofts)

DNA guarantee

In order to give our customers the guarantee that the purchased youngsters are the children from the mentioned national winners along with the younsters a DNA guarantee will be given. Free with all direct children, of which the sellingprice is over � 500,- according to the NOOK terms of delivery and guaranteeterms (see: Orderingform)

N.O.O.K. foundation

Since august of 2003 till March 2010 Evert Diepeveen (owner of First Prize Pigeons) has been the chairman of the foundation:
Nederlands Overkoepelend Orgaan Kweekcentra (N.O.O.K.) or dutch organisation for breedingcentres.
Evert took the initiative in organizing this foundation. Objective for this organisation is to create guarantees and and terms of delivery in favor of the buyers.

First Prize Pigeons was the first breedingcentre in the Netherlands which enclosed a DNA guarantee. All NOOK certified breedingcentre will enclose DNA guarantees with the ordered youngsters.
